Introduction (Title)

It will be easier if a person has a little knowledge of HTML before we go onto the nuts & bolts of this Template Page . HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is a programming language , yes , but it is a very simple and straightforward language , for the most part anyway . What we are looking at on this page is a result of the simple programing going on underneath the page's surface .

To view the underlying programing just load any web page in your browser and then select "View/Page" or "View/Sorce" etc , from the browsers menu bar . You can then select the text and copy/paste it into a text editor for modifying , as in the case of this Template .

Alternately your browser will allow you to save the page you are looking at as a text file , or as HTML , or even the whole page , images and all ! So , you have options as to how you want to get going . That will save me from putting the HTML for this Template on this page , since it is very easy to see what is lying under this very simple web design .

I could make an attempt to teach a little HTML right here , but instead I will suggest you download the very simple instructional application "PageTutor.exe" . PageTutor.exe  and then hit the download section . This was a very easy start for me and I can suggest it , though it is 10 years old now since version 1 . Others on the Realsoft list will be able to suggest many more good starting places , and this template will probably soon carry a list of them .

OK , let's have a look at the basic starting point : What follows is a typical example of a typical paragraph . The paragraph starts with a Section Title , then an embedded .jpge or .gif that will appear directly on the web page that has a description at the .jpeg's bottom :

8888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888

Let's Get Going !!!! (section title)

Section's embedded .jpeg's description in italics at bottom of image

Now , here is the text that relates to the above .jpeg or to the above section title . However , one can obviously skip the .jpeg and just go right to text , then follow with a .jpeg or .gif or .mpeg or .mpeg4 animation , or not , right ?

Sometimes , if we included all the pertinent .jpeg's we would have a web page a million pixels long , so we then may decide to provide external links to web based images , or even to images that are actually in the same directory as this template . The point is it's an opportunity to compress the tutorial a little bit , and for those of us with slow connections it offers a choice to look later . Link to an external image  and this  Matthias Kappenberg also inspired this Scratchy Egg rendering  and also this  Super Scratchy Egg  More text and an example link to a .zip file  This is an example .zip file

That's it ? (section title)

Well , that is about it , really . Just delete the text in this template , add your own text and add your renderings . Save your renderings out as .bmp's and then convert them to .gif's or .jpegs , then upload them to the same directory as your template's directory . It's actually not that hard once you get the hang of the logic involved to the links . Trust me , if I can do it ... you can do it . Hopefully this little tutorial will help you get going . If you need web space to upload your tutorials , I would suggest you simply post to the Realsoft mailing list and chances are someone will offer an area on their server to park your folder .

Now , I'm sure that I've made many mistakes on this Template Page , so do forgive my lack of HTML skills . If any of the HTML Pro's out there would like to re-do this page with better code , please email me and I'll be more than happy to replace my attempt with yours .

Cheers , and best of luck with your lessons . If you need further help , just give a shout out !!
